Arizona - ansty feet + time = road trip!

Well it appears that we just couldn't let the last month of 2018 end without a trip in it!  So, after mulling the situation over, and discussing Tom's bird counting opportunities in Arizona, we're heading for Texas in the morning! He assures me there are better opportunities in Texas!

Our truck is needing an electrical repair that will require a couple of days in the shop.  We needed to rent a car to get to and from while that was happening..... and the rental car gets much better gas mileage... and we had the time - so off we go.

The destination is Alamo, Texas and all the bird refuges along the Rio Grande, possibly Big Bend and South Padre Island as well.  I'm going to go sit on the Gulf of Mexico shoreline and get a salt water fix!  This water girl is in need of salty sea and air!

While I haven't been sitting here watching the cactus grow, I keep working on a new 'life plan'.  I'm really overwhelmed with all the photography stuff I want to do - several thousand images need to be sorted and edited and then something done with them.  Do you need a new piece of art for your home?  Let me know!  I can hook you up!

When I get frustrated with editing or just tired of sitting at the computer, I've been playing with food and cooking, joining the yoga group, working out in the gym, and participating in the parks photography club.

The participants were asked to submit 5 of our favorite photos for judging.  Two will be selected by a jury of photo club members then those will be voted on by the rest of the park population. The images above this part are five of my favorites.  Which two do you like of the five above?

Stone walls, Bahia Salinas, Isla Carmen - Sea of Cortez
The first 'assigned' category was Abandoned Buildings, of which we all went on a expedition to a local barrio last Friday. The photo above and the four below are my selections.
Blue corner shelf, Bahia Salinas, Isla Carmen
Not many buildings in this barrio fit into the topic, but there are some very interesting building/window/door and color combinations that I'll show you as soon as I get them edited!
Green painted door, Barrio Viejo, Tucson
The participants that were here last year, had gotten the topic list before they departed for the summer.  Since we just got the list, we were allowed to go back in our files to select appropriate images.
Three walls of a manor house, Scotland
I tried to at least stay within  the last year, but I did reach a bit further back for a couple of favorites.
Hacienda, Baja
For now, I'll share with you my submissions for the Abandoned building category.  Which two do you like best?

I will let you know what interesting things and adventures we find along our way to Texas and back!
