| Hayden is so happy to be on a lovely beach! |
We headed off to the airport, for yet another o'dark thirty flight. Luckily the Tucson airport is about 20 minutes away and is very small. That made our morning go very smoothly. We're heels over head to be joining the kids and their parents for a week of playing! And I get a salt water and tropical colors fix!
 |
| we're told this is NOT a crowded beach! |
The kids didn't know we were joining them, so it was a bit of a surprise. Mason, the oldest, had overheard some discussions and questioned some of the items purchased while shopping -"Jeanne said rice would be good"... sort of comments!

| Atlantis and one of the lagoons |
 |
| One of two penthouse towers at Atlantis |
One can rent one of two penthouse villas in the bridge connecting the two towers at Atlantis, for a mere $25,000 a night - minimum of 4 nights. But, it does come with a butler, a chef, a limo and I'm sure many other amenities, so, well worth the large price tag!
Our destination was Harbourside Villas adjacent to Atlantis - evidently THE place to go in Nassau.
 |
| This lagoon is home to the larger predator fish including sawtooth sharks. |
We were a short walk from all the waterslides, lazy rivers and lagoons of the very busy, and touristy resort.
Our slightly lower key accommodations suited all of us just fine, and besides, it had a great swimming pool.
 |
| This bar/restaurant at Atlantis looked like a seashore decorated cake! |
 |
| Hayden enjoying the view of the aquarium |
 |
| One of several sawtooth sharks in the lagoon. |
We did a few runs on the water slides with the kids, several which are tubes in the dark, checked out the beach, and the aquarium, and some of the other features.
 |
| Logan kicking up his heels in his 'dance'. |
Once on the beach, the boys played in the surf and tried out skim boarding. The beaches here are a bit steep, not enough run out on the waves, but they still had fun.
Uncle Tom and Lefty watched the activity from the beach. And yes, the traveling hats did get put in the bag this trip!
After a full day of slipping, sliding, filling up the bathing suits with sand, we headed back to our own pool for happy hour and some pool play.
 |
| Carl chills in the pool while Hayden, Laura and Logan enjoy the hot tub. |
 |
| A variety of rum drinks were sampled during happy hour - this one a Bahama Mama. |
The port of Nassau hosts, on a daily basis, 3-5 cruise ships. On the day we arrived there were only 3, the smallest number we saw all week. The piers can hold up to 9, but I'm not sure the town can!
Stay tuned, I'll have another batch of photos up soon.
