Cheyenne Wyoming to Trinidad Colorado
Back on highway 25 heading south we crossed into Colorado.
We choose to spend two nights at Trinidad Lake Campground, about 12 miles north of the New Mexico state line. The campground is located above Trinidad Lake/reservoir. About two thirds of the sites were taken. It’s a nice facility that even has showers, free, and a fee laundry room for guests.
We spent the time resting, napping, doing a bit of hiking and even got in some fishing. It was not a catching day!
Our last afternoon we did a couple mile hike to a wildlife viewing areas. We didn’t find much on the trail other than a few butterflies and Tom got a new ‘lifer’ bird. We did however, see a tarantula crossing the highway.
It clompity- clomped its way across the road and down into the ditch on the other side. Well. it actually moves quite softly... it just looks like it's clomping across the road... Oh, wait.. That's me!
I stuck my toe in for size comparison!
