Costa Rica - Night time walks
After finding the strawberry frog, I’ve been out searching for critters most evenings. Armed with my camera, my headlamp, glasses and a flashlight I search the bushes and trees for creepy crawly things.
The snake above was nestled in a tree at about eye level. I wasn’t expecting to find any snakes, but was careful on my search anyway. I went back later to take some more photos and it had slithered off to find a meal. It’s a rat snake, and mostly non- venomous. Okaaay.
There are water drops on all the grass blades, but some of them seems to blink with a blue light. As I got closer, the twinking light would stop, and in looking closely, I found spiders, about an inch long! This one has baby spiders all along the back.
And a huge, one eye moth, about 5” top to bottom of wings, I found earlier in the afternoon.
