Waitara to Taupo New Zealand

The weather gods did not favor us for another day as we woke to cloudy skies and big drops of rain. Destination today was Taupo, (pronounced Ta-oh-poo), where we hoped to connect with my brother Carl and his family. They arrived on Sunday and are doing a clockwise tour for a few days before meeting us up at the family property on the 4th. We did find them and joined them at their resort for a soak in the thermal pools. When we were all pruney and soft, we prepared a big BBQ and salad back in their room.
. Wait for it.....
. Wait for it.....
. POW! Our plans were to continue North East and theirs South west. We did run into them at Huka Falls, just outside of Taupo, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area.
62,000 gallons of water rush over these falls every second!! It's mesmerizing; I could stand there and watch the water all day long.
