England to Seattle, End of the trip
Well it's been an amazing trip and I can't believe that's it's ending. It's bitter sweet, but time to design a new adventure.
Tom and I started in Mexico, California, Oregon and Washington, New Zealand - North and south islands, Australia- Melbourne, Alice Springs, Uluru, Sydney, Caines, Darwin and Perth. South Africa followed with Johannesburg, Kruger Park and Cape Town. Doha, Qatar for a quick 30 hour visit. Our last leg saw us exploring Scotland, England and Wales.
We've flown 15 flights and 35,647 miles, Tom drove us approximately 15,500 miles- on the left side of the road and the right hand side of the vehicle, we rented RV's in 5 different countries, cars in 3 countries, stayed in too many RV campgrounds and holiday parks to list - but have a pretty good idea of what constitutes a good one! The tally on fuel usage and expenses will just have to wait awhile.. and once I start through all the receipts, I may decide that I really don't want to know the total!
We've had a wonderful time. It's been too short in most places and frustrating in areas that we really would have liked to spend more time. We knew this was to be a 'research trip', in that we'd learn about places we'd like to revisit. The list is long for those places!
So now, it's back to reality. For us that means downsizing the RV and finding something more conducive to smaller roads - more opportunities to slow down and explore.
Thanks for following along on the journey... there will be others soon!
