Scotland - Isle of Skye to Lochcarron

Tom and I got up early for a hike to the viewpoint above our campsite.  Our drive the day before took us along the far shore, and around the bay to the left, to Lochcarron.

A couple of neighbors who live next to the trail stopped to say hi!

the view from our campsite....

And our campsite... the 'wee campsite'.

We are driving on the NC 500, the northcoast 500, about 550 miles of what Scotland refers to as their Route 66.  They've created a NC500 website, and other paraphernalia to go along with it... like a passport to get stamped along the way... but more on that later.

One of the suggested stops is at the Attadale gardens, several hundred acres of manicured and planted gardens.

Lefty jumped right up onto what we think are Devils Claw leaves!  They are huge!

And he found a bronze friend hiding under a tree!

While visiting the gardens and chatting with the daughter of the woman that purchased and developed the whole thing... the fish monger showed up in his van with fresh salmon!

I ha d just commented to the travelers that I hadn't seen any fish markets.  He had the best fresh Wester Ross salmon and some really nicely smoked as well.  A meal in the making and dinner for sure!

These canes/walking sticks were casually propped against the main door of the owners home inside the Attadale gardens.
