England/Wales - Conwy
Well we've managed, quite by accident, to squeeze one more country into our trip - Wales. Most of the world recognizes the continent that we're on as just being the United Kingdom. When you're counting countries, as we are, every one counts!
When planning this trip, I truly ran out of time to do much research for Scotland and any for England. It's been a bit off of the hip as we've traveled in the Scotland, England and now Wales. So far it's been just fine and we've found some interesting and fun things to do.
As I mentioned before we had talked about criss crossing the English countryside on our way to Heathrow, where we fly out. In choosing this spot, I looked at a spot opposite Hull, and on the West coast. It wasn't quite like throwing a dart on a map on the wall, but not far from it. Thinking I was choosing a quiet little seaside town, weren't we surprised when we pulled into a 'walled city' within sight of one of the most popular seaside vacation spots!
The photo above is of Llandudno and North Shore Beach. Hundreds of hotel rooms here, complete with a cruise ship pier! Quaint it's not.
Then if you go across the peninsula you will find the walled city of Conwy ( pronounced Conway)

There is even a hop on hop off bus here! We were wandering through town and it stopped right next to us. One hour later, we'd done the loop around the area.
We all did a 'wow! look at that current' as we went past the anchorage on the bus! That's just tidal flow!
We'll be leaving in the morning to take the back roads to a friends home about an hour north of London. We'll do a couple of nights with them before one night at Heathrow before we catch our 10 hour flight to Dallas, then on to Seattle. I will do another posting or two, but once we return, I'll only be doing one posting a week. This daily stuff is way too much work!
