Darwin Australia - Traveling hats at Bukbukluk

Every once in a while we see a sign that just cracks us up as we're driving along.  Back in New Zealand, while reading a map, Gordie wondered " are we going to pass through Athol"?  Well, yes we did and we all laughed and giggled!  Somewhere in a file folder of NZ images I have the sign.

While traveling through the Kakadu park, we just had to stop at BukBukLuk.  This was a good spot for the traveling hats to make an appearance!

This area had also gone through a recent burn.  Some of the plants showed some interesting patterns.

This is a plant that pops it's seeds out with the fire.

An interesting pattern on the charred palm.

The palms don't waste any time.

And a plant that reminded me of wheat, slightly charred.
