Africa - Kruger National Park - Baboon and Cape Buffalo

Has these animals are known to have a serious attitude problem, when encountering these baboons we roll up the windows and let them have lots of room.  We’ve seen the YouTube videos and heard the tales of them getting into cars, while the owners quickly jump out into a park that has lots of big animals with big teeth!
This is the Savanna Baboon, the Chacma race, the largest and sturdiest of them all.
The males can be 46-96 pounds, the female 26-31. These animals occupy most of the southern half of the African continent.  We have heard that Cape Town is being inundated with them!

I decided to show my photos in alphabetical order, for no other reason than it seemed to work as I was putting them together.

So, also featured today is the African Cape Buffalo. This animal is also found on the southern half of the African continent.  It’s huge in size ranging from 8-11.5 feet in length and 1100-1500 pounds.  Both sexes have horns that look like a really bad wig, or a unibrow! The other feature is the muzzle is blunt and ends at the bare, moist nostrils.  I have several photos where they need a tissue!

They are considered to be a very social animal and form large herds.  They stay close to each other and will defend their own if one is threatened.

Or you could always hide under Mum's tail if you're scared!
